Am I being irrational? Last weekend my gf left town for two weeks to do some training - too far/expensive to fly home for the weekend. She is the only female in the class of 8 - So we have a decent week, lots of "I love you's, miss you", phone s during the day, emails, texts - the norm. So she tells me today that her and the guys are taking a road trip, I think to Cincinnati and I tell her to have fun, be careful, and so on. That was almost 12 hours ago and nary a word, no text, no nothing. I'm pissed and concerned, but right now more pissed. She is pretty closeted at work, that's fine, but f*** couldn't she at least flash off a text? As the mind continues to work, I'm thinking I don't want to move to TN and be isolated and have days/nights like this. Grrrrrr.

Yes, yes you are. I mean... 12 hours? That's nothing. What are you pissed about? Do you think she's boffing the boys or something? Have you considered that there might not be cell phone coverage where she is? I think you're really stressing over nothing, but that's just me.

You get to feel what you feel, but ... Take a breath ... use the time to do something you enjoy doing (something that isn't fretting) ... The idea of moving to TN and being isolated sounds like a separate (but serious) issue that's making this one seem bigger than it might at another time. You know?

cut the cord, it is not healthy seriously, why aren't you doing things to occupy your mind other than obsessing about what she may or may not be doing. If there is a reason to distrust, maybe you shouldn't be in that relationship. Just my opinion.

I travel extensively for my work....... I'm on the road x-x months out of the year. My GF (we've been cohabitating for x years) took a while to get it. I am "in work mode" on the road. I her in the am and in the pm. Sometimes I miss one. She knows I love her, and I miss her, but I'm in work mode. I miss her MORE if I talk to her too much. Maybe it's like that.

I am in your GF shoes I'd love to talk more. It's hard and it isn't about trust. I know like never before how much we love and what our relationship means to each other. You mentioned being in work mode and that's what I it. I'm having a rough time getting it though. My own issues - I guess

Did she finally you? I agree that when traveling, or in work mode, sometimes we aren't as responsive as we might be otherwise, but I do think it's good to at least check in.

yes at about Midnight(xam her time) - I kept it rational and we talked in the morning. She was having a good time. I explained how I was, she explained how she was "work mode". It's all good. She had a rough day yesterday, Sunday, missing being home, missing me...we talked on the phone probably x-x hours. Seriously, is there anyone who would want to exchange emails and chat who are going through this? It might get old on a forum, its only why I am asking.
